Hidden Cameras in School Campus

Thursday, January 20th, 2005

In every school, administration should ensure that the safety of the students is the priority. Security measures is a must in every school to protect students from any type of danger. To become security measure become more effective, school administration put hidden cameras in every corner of the school campus except comfort room and lockers. Some would ask, Is  there a legal basis of putting hidden cameras in the school campus? Is it illegal to put these cameras in the campus? This is the answer of a yahoo!answer user:

No it is not….There can be cameras anywhere EXCEPT the bathroom and or
locker.
These camaras are for public safety, and when one enters a school they
sign a contract that gives them the right to video tape a student. Remember that incident in the school bus where the driver hit the kid?
If a bus can have a camara, so can the school, and I am a criminal
justice student, so I tell you, if the evidence was legally obtained,
then it can be used.

If we consider students’ safety as a priority, using modern technology to protect is not only a necessary but also a must. Schools are the second homes of the students and parents expect that they are safety and that there is nothing to worry about inside the school campus.
